The One Three Web Design Blog

FirstROI

All sites produced at FirstROI used a home brewed CMS that gave me very little control over the underlying markup.

City Bank

City Bank, Lubbock Texas is on of FirstROI’s biggest clients and I was asked to take the reigns on their site after just one month on the job.

For this site I convinced FROI to forget the flash banner and let me do all the animation with jQuery. I did all the styling and javascript for this site.

Community National Bank

Community National Bank is a site pretty heavy on typography. I like its clean look and use of flash that matches the flow of the site.

Seattle Bank

For Seattle I worked with a small team to help produce the site faster. My main concentration was the homepage and layout of downstream pages.

Ocean Communities FCU

I spent some time evaluating our process, plugins and user experience of the sites we were creating. Oceans was the first site to have the new hotness implemented.

BearingPoint

TexasOnline

Texas Online is the official state portal of Texas. From day to day updates to a full site overhaul this has been my professional career’s bread and butter.

From XSL Transforms to XHTML 1.0 Strict fully valid sites I cut my teeth on this beauty up there on the thirteenth floor.

My Texas Biz

My Texas Biz allows for future business owners to fill out the permits they will need for their future establishment online. This was also the last ptoject I worked on at BP.

For this project I worked with a team to develop a working prototype, created a process to convert non-accessible PDFs into fully accessible PDFs for visually impared users.

Driver License Renewal

Ever work on a project, finish your part and then not have it go live for over a year and a half? Well this was one of those projects. One of my first professional projects and one of the most recently launched, does it still stand up after sitting on the shelf for nearly two years?

On this project I implemented the original design, was part of the re-design once our designer quit, wrote the XHTML, CSS and jQuery form validation. Worked closely with the back end Java team to integrate all the pieces.

Certified Business App

This is by far the quickest project I have worked on. I was given a general direction and look, a very strict page flow, told to add some pizaaz, and this was the result. All together I billed 8 hours of work, from initial meeting through QA.

This project involved HTML, CSS and jQuery work.

Freelance N’ Such

TalkieTweets

TalkieTweets was a 100% personal project from concept to completion primarily to showcase my own love for movies; currently on hold for a re-design

This site was built with a PHP/MySQL backend, using oAuth to interface with twitter and the normal XHTML, CSS, JavaScript(jQuery) on the front end.

East Side Fair

The East Side Fair site was built in one day, by five guys as a part of the Air Austin 2009 Competition.

This year the Accessiboyz were proud to take home second place stock car!

Eats BBQ

Eats BBQ began on a whim after a trip to a local Texas BBQ pit. We decided to create a site that would allow us to review BBQ joints.

I worked with a group of friends on this one. I created the prototype, and worked with the group to bring it to life with a WordPress backend.

White Mountain Baskets

The White Mountain Gift Baskets project called for a new logo design and website design. I learned a very important lesson from this project. Maybe one day I will write a blog entry about it.

The One Three

If you didn’t notice this is the site you are currently on. Why feature it here? Because I can, I put a lot of time into this site and I’m proud of it.

The One Three was conceived in Photoshop; prototyped in HTML and CSS; built with PHP, MySQL, jQuery and powered by Wordpress.

Jenny Hsiao Portfolio

Jenny is a fantastic web designer who I work with frequently. I build, she designs. This site has not launched yet, but will in less than a week.

For this site I did everything but the design.

Doricapa Sales Inc.

Click to visit doricapasales.com

For Doricapa Sales I was asked to create a brand new look and feel for their logo and website. I tried to create something new and creative; yet sterile to resemble your average medical sales site.

This project called for the creation of a new logo, new website and a custom back end CMS. Created using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.

ShortMinds

Click to visit shortminds.com

ShortMinds is a webcomic and it happens to be drawn by your truly. I make no grand claims to the look of the site. It was the first site I created in Wordpress, uses a template to display comics that I did not write and it is a challenge to keep the comics updated let alone redesign it to be fully valid and whats not.
